Dr. Zhengfei Guan

Associate Professor of Ag Economics

Dr. Zhengfei Guan’s research interests are in the areas of farm management, labor economics, applied econometrics, and agricultural policy. His current research focuses on optimization and agribusiness decision making. Decision areas covered in Dr. Guan’s research include land use, farm labor management, capital investment, and technology adoption.

  Dr. Guan’s current research efforts concentrate on agribusiness decision making and optimal coping strategies under changing market and regulatory environment—with an emphasis on the fruit and vegetable industry.

  Agribusiness decision making involves risk and uncertainty and covers decision in the following areas:

  • Land use
  • Labor management
  • Capital investment
  • Technology adoption
• Extension

  Extension: Agricultural Economics

  Dr. Guan’s Extension program involves:

  • working with Extension faculty;
  • educating growers on management, market, and policy issues; and
  • informing policy makers of the industry needs.
