    Dr. Hung Xuan Bui

    Biological Scientist III

Dr. Hung Bui is currently a Biological Scientist III at the University of Florida GCREC and doing research on alternative strategies to manage plant-parasitic nematodes on vegetables and fruits of Florida by non-fumigant nematicides (chemical and biologically based nematicides) and cover crops. He also uses morphological and molecular techniques to identify plant-parasitic nematodes with an emphasis on Meloidogyne species. He also studies the plant-parasitic nematodes associated with new specialty crops in Florida such as hops, hemp, artichoke, and Asian vegetables. Also, studying the effects of microbial volatile organic compounds and secondary metabolites to control plant-parasitic nematodes is of his interest.
