Debra Barry
Assistant Professor
Dr. Debra Barry is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Education and Communication (AEC), the Gulf Coast Research and Education Center, and the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at located Plant City. She is a triple Gator, earning her B.S. (2003), M.S. (2010), & Ph.D. (2019) from UF in the Department of Agricultural Education and Communication. Her research encompasses recruitment and retention in agricultural education. Specifically, she has worked to expand Triadic Mentor approaches for student teacher success, and leads the UF/AEC Cooperating Teacher Program, the Ag Ed Institute and the UF/AEC Teach Ag Ambassador Programs.

Teaching
Dr. Barry's research encompasses recruitment and retention in agricultural education. Specifically, she has worked to expand Triadic Mentor approaches for student teacher success, and leads the UF/AEC Cooperating Teacher Program, the Ag Ed Institute and the UF/AEC Teach Ag Ambassador Programs. She teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses, offered in Gainesville, Plant City and online. Courses she has taught and/or currently teaches include:
