Dr. Shane White

Instructional Assistant Professor 

Dr. Shane White is an Instructional Assistant Professor in the Department of Agriculture Education and Communication (AEC), the Gulf Coast Research and Education Center, and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences located at Plant City, Florida. Shane received his Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and Horticulture, an M.A. in Documentary Filmmaking, and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Communication with a focus on environmental conservation. His research explores the role of storytelling and visual media in shaping perceptions, attitudes and behavioral changes concerning environmental and natural resource conservation.

Shane’s work as a Documentary Storyteller has produced award winning films, photography and articles, both domestically and internationally.

  • Teaching

    Dr. White’s teaching approaches seek to give students the skills of being creative and efficient storytellers, making them valuable assets to whatever career path they take.
