Agricultural Education

The Agricultural Education specialization in Plant City prepares students to become certified agriscience instructors and educational specialists or to become employed in the agricultural business and industry sector.

Students who complete this program of study are prepared to meet the Florida Department of Education’s requirements for agriculture teacher certification. This state and nationally certified degree program will prepare students to advise FFA chapters in a middle or high school setting.

In addition to equipping students with teaching skills, the coursework also emphasizes expertise across a broad spectrum of agriculture and teaches “people skills” sought by employers throughout the agriculture industry and in other public and private sectors making our students highly marketable. Traditionally, 100% of Ag Ed graduates have been employed either as teachers or in the private, governmental, or agricultural business and industry sectors.
