What do NRC Majors Do?
NRC majors find employment in government agencies, consulting firms, and environmental education programs.  Many NRC majors pursue advanced degrees in the biological, ecological and social sciences, as well as the professional areas of education and law.

Will I find a job?
Over the last ten years nearly 90% of our graduates found full time, permanent employment soon after graduation.  The Career Resource Center at the main campus in Gainesville assists graduating seniors to secure jobs by arranging interviews with interested companies, keeping up-to-date records of job opportunities, and sponsoring career conferences.

Will I have to complete an internship?
It is not required, but available.  A wide array of internships provide students with opportunities to apply principles learned in their coursework, explore career options, and make links with potential employers. In addition students can participate in field studies abroad, many students gain first hand experience with unique ecosystem, international conservation issues, and local cultures in diverse systems such as the tropical forests of Costa Rica, savannas of Africa, and coral reefs of Australia.

Are there any deadlines?
Yes.
  There are deadlines to apply for admission to the university, college, semester course registration & graduation.  See your Program Coordinator for specific dates.

Can I take course(s) as a non-degree seeking student?
Yes. Students can take course(s) for teacher certification, or professional development. You must complete the online non-degree registration application at:
