What do Environmental Horticulturists Do?

Will I find a job?
Qualified students frequently find jobs prior to graduation.  The Career Resource Center at the main campus in Gainesville assists graduating seniors to secure jobs by arranging interviews with interested companies, keeping up-to-date records of job opportunities, and sponsoring career conferences.

Will I have to complete an internship?
Practical Work Experience ORH 4941 is required because it is extremely important for all students regardless of their area of specialization. A graduate with practical experience is in a much more favorable position for employment than a student with no commercial experience. Most students prefer to schedule their work experience during the summer.  Students must be paid for 35 hours or more weekly.  Your program coordinator will assist you in securing an internship.

Are there any deadlines?
Yes.
  There are deadlines to apply for admission to the university, college and semester course registration.  There are deadlines for applying for your internship and graduation. See your Program Coordinator for specific dates.

Can I take course(s) as a non-degree seeking student?
Yes. Students can take course(s) for teacher certification, or professional development. You must complete the online non-degree registration application at:
