Dr. Hugh A. Smith

Assistant Professor, Department of Entomology and Nematology, Vegetable Entomology

Hugh Smith carries out research on the management of insect and mite pests of horticultural crops affecting Florida agriculture.  Chemical, biological and cultural approaches to pest suppression are evaluated in collaboration with growers, industry and researchers at UF and elsewhere.  Outreach programs emphasize training to identify pest and beneficial arthropods and management of insecticide resistance.
