Dr. Sydney Park Brown
Extension: Environmental Horticulture
As the UF/IFAS State Extension Specialist in Consumer Horticulture, Dr. Park Brown provides educational resources to Extension faculty and the public at large. She has authored two books, written numerous publications, and offers learning opportunities, such as short courses, presentations, demonstrations and websites.
Dr. Park Brown has established a rose project to investigate low maintenance roses for Central Florida. Numerous antique and modern roses are being evaluated in a trial located at the GCREC-Plant City Center. Also located at the center is a 1.8 Teaching Garden that is open to the public which features over 200 species of plants and numerous landscape design ideas as well as a demonstration of alternative vegetable gardening techniques.
