Celebrate Mother's Day May 13th!

Welcome New Faculty!

We welcome our two newest faculty to GCREC! Dr.Amr H. Abd-Elrahman is an Assistant Professor in Geomatics for the Plant City campus.  Amr comes to us from Egypt where he received his Bachelors and Masters degrees at Ain Shams University in Egypt in Civil Engineering/Surveying.  He then completed his PhD with the University of Florida in Civil Engineering-Geomatics in 2001.  Amr will be joined by his wife, Marwa, and four children some time in June.  Welcome back to "Gator Country"!

We welcome, also, our new Assistant Professor in Plant Pathology, Dr. Gary E. Vallad.  Gary will be working at the Center in Balm/Wimauma. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees at North Dakota State University in Biotechnology/Microbiology and Crop and Weed Sciences.  He then completed his PhD in Plant Pathology at the University of Wisconsin in 2003. He furthered his doctoral training at the University of California, Davis in Plant Pathology.  Born in South Miami, Florida, Gary has decided to move his career back to Florida with his wife, Susana, and two children.
