Welcome New Employees...

(Left) Dr. Jim Gilreath's weed science program has hired another OPS.  Fredy Martinez, brother to Jose Martinez (also in Gilreath's program) joined us this past month. Fredy lives in Bradenton.  He has a wife and five children.

Debora Ratliff (right) is working as OPS for Dr. Craig Stanley and Dr. David Schuster in a joint project.  Debora is a local girl who graduated from East Bay High School and lives in Balm with her husband and two children.

(Left) Joining Dr. David Schuster's team this past month as OPS is Lloyd Stettler.  Lloyd will be working with the off-site mole cricket traps for the Entomology research program. He is a resident of Sun City and a retiree from the National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Don McIntyre (right) is another Sun City resident who has joined David Schuster's and Craig Stanley's team as part-time OPS (so as not to cut into his fishing time)! Don retired from his sales/consulting business, Management Training Services, Inc. in Jackson, Georgia.

Two new OPS employees at our Plant City Campus this past month are Carolyn Cheatham-Rhodes and Mark Dykes.  Carolyn will be working with Dr. Michael Andreu. She is a graduate of HCC and is continuing her NRC studies at the Plant City Campus.  Mark is working with Dr. Steve Johnson and is also an HCC graduate continuing his education in Natural Resource Conservation.  (no photos available)

Gardener's Lament:
You pull 'em, spray 'em, chop 'em...whack!  Medusa-like they grow right back.
You dig 'em up and smoke 'em out; the more you fight, the worse they sprout.
Do you recall, while planting seeds, laying eyes upon a pack called...'Weeds"?
