Hosts 2007 UF-IFAS/Embrapa Postharvest Horticulture Technical Tour
This
group of Brazilian growers was treated to a tour and presentation of the
Gulf Coast REC by Dr. Natalia Peres, as one of their stops in a visit
that
was organized by Dr. Steve Sargent, from the Hort. Dept., and Dr. Celso
Moretti, from Embrapa (Brazilian research institute - equivalent to USDA
here). The goal of the visit was to learn about postharvest procedures
and techniques used here in the US. There were about 18 people among
researchers, growers and students. After their stop at the Center, they
visited West Coast Tomatoes, Dundee Citrus Growers, Cutrale, Farmers
